We didn't start the fire
I managed not to go and see The Coral last night, despite having a ticket. This was due to snot and other illness side-effects. My associate did go, and met Noel Gallagher. The world is unfair, and pisses on us wherever we go. The more optimistic people thank the lord for this piss from above, and call it rain, and drink deeply from it. The pessimists die of thirst. Thanks to everyone who came last Thursday - hope you all had a storming time, like I did (other than the bag thing, eloquently mentioned already by Mr. D). Here are the songs that myself (and Ant) can remember playing. We can never remember everything we played, which is good. If we ever do, it means we weren't drunk enough.
Hope to see you all next time.
James played:
Graham Coxon - Right to Pop!
Belle & Sebastian - There's too much love
The Shins - So Says I
The Long Blondes - Giddy Atmospheres
Pulp - Razzmatazz
Super Furry Animals - Golden Retriever
Arthur Conley - Sweet Soul Music
The Bees - Chicken Payback
Bis - Kandy Pop
The Beatles - Glass Onion
The Cure - Boys Don't Cry
Adam & The Ants - Antmusic (at least, until it started to skip, encouraging ironic cheers a go-go)
The Cure - Friday I'm in Love
Dexy's - Come on Eileen
Frank Wilson - Do I love you (indeed I do)
The Temptations - Get Ready
Jr. Walker & The All Stars - (I'm a) Roadrunner
Martha Reeves & The Vandellas - Needle in a haystack
David Bowie - Suffragette City
Billy Joel - We Didn't Start the Fire
Ant played:
Supergrass - Sitting up straight
Radiohead - Anyone can play guitar.
Blur - Trouble in the message centre
Maximo park - Apply some pressure (is that what it's called?)
Ash - something off 'Free All Angels'. Can't remember.
Morrissey - Last of the famous international playboys
Shed 7 - Where have you been tonight?
Gene - Haunted by you
Terrorvision - Perserverance
Idlewild - I'm a message
Killers - Jenny was a friend of mine

Oh What a Night
Last Thursday's London Loves went extremely well, and as ever we hope you enjoyed it as much as we did. It may be the last Thursday we do at Push Bar - we are trying to get a Friday slot, so watch this space. Or this space, rather.Anyway, that was the good news. The bad news is that a handbag was stolen from the club (the dancefloor) at around midnight. So, firstly, if you saw anything suspicious, please let us or Joe at the Push Bar know.
Secondly, this is the first time anything like this has happened, but please be wary. Leave anything non-valuable in our cloakroom, and if you have valuables, keep them with you, and always keep an eye on them. The bag was only left for a few minutes.
We're a friendly bunch, and we don't want to change the atmosphere at London Loves. There won't be metal detectors installed, but, as Shaw Taylor used to say, "Keep 'em peeled."
See you in May.
D
